 Apply for Quality in Construction awards through Friday, Oct. 31. NAPA’s Quality in Construction (QIC) Awards identify road projects across the nation that meet and exceed standards for performance, from state road overlays to full-scale interstate paving. 
 
 National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT) researchers will join NAPA Pavement Engineering & Innovation Director Jean-Paul Fort on Monday, Oct. 27 for a virtual learning session on recycled plastics in asphalt paving mixtures. Recycled Plastics in Asphalt Paving Mixtures via the Dry Process will begin at 2 p.m. ET and feature NCAT's Randy West and Fan Yin as they examine the dry process of using recycled plastics in asphalt mix.  
 
  
 AIEI (Asphalt, Innovate, Enlighten, Implement) experts will explore upcoming changes to asphalt binder specifications in a series of webinars kicking off Nov. 6 and wrapping up the first week of December. The three-part series will provide valuable insight into how current research is shaping the future of asphalt binder specifications and testing practices.

 Asphalt Pavement Alliance Executive Director Mike Skinner has been in the industry since 1991, meaning he has spent a career recognizing the differences between fads and best practices. Skinner continued building on his knowledge, and has found that the best of those best practices – the ones that have stood the test of time – became successful due to what he calls actionable deployment, which is the first step toward industry impact. It’s that impact he’ll use to gauge effectiveness in his new role at the APA.
