NAPA’s Quality in Construction (QIC) Awards identify road projects across the nation that meet and exceed standards for performance, from state road overlays to full-scale interstate paving. Operational Excellence Awards focus on other aspects of the industry, including community service and sustainability.
The Airport Asphalt Pavement Technology Program (AAPTP) has published its latest report, “Validation of Gyration Level for Superpave Gyratory Compactor (SGC) for Mix Design and Control of Airport Asphalt Mixtures” (AIR-008, October 2025). Analyzing over 50 mixes from diverse climates and aggregate types, the findings confirm FAA specifications for P-401 and P-403 mix designs, supporting the current FAA framework for airfields servicing aircraft ±60,000 lb.
 Any full-time employee of a NAPA member company is eligible to join the Political Advocacy Member Council (PAMC). Current dues are $0.Members can participate in PAMC-only meetings and vote for council officers. They also help make recommendations regarding NAPA’s legislative and regulatory priorities and candidate support activities.

N.B. West worked with a fabrication shop to weld guards onto the frame of the paver operator’s seat to provide better protection for the operator. In the five months of operations with the new guards in place, N.B. West reported zero incidents or near misses.
The company’s new safety guards earned it NAPA’s 2024 Asphalt Safety Innovations Award.
IMPACT Leadership Group Committee nominations are due Oct. 10. After the nominations deadline, NAPA staff will review nominations for eligibility before voting opens up for two weeks. Two weeks after the completed elections, the results will be announced.
