Congratulations to NALA President Melissa J. Hamilton, ACP!
Congratulations to Melissa Hamilton, ACP, on her recent re-election as NALA President for the 2021-2022 term. Her first year as NALA President was anything but “normal.” Leading a national association through a pandemic took grace, courage, organization, and most of all, perseverance and innovation. Through a plethora of virtual meetings and continual engagement with members on NALA Commons, Melissa led NALA to a highly successful year of relationship building and virtual engagement.
 
We are thrilled to have Melissa’s leadership and expertise for another year!

Reminder - Digital Badging Platform Rebrand
We wanted to remind you that as of March 31, 2021, our digital credential provider, Credly, launched a new visual experience on the platform that you have previously known as Acclaim. As part of that experience, the Acclaim name, logo and URL has been replaced by Credly.
 
No action is required on your part, and the way you use the platform has not changed. You may notice that badge notification emails no longer come from @youracclaim.com. They are now coming from @credly.com. This rebrand comes after Credly acquired Acclaim in 2018, and this is the final step in merging the two brands.

Well-Being Week in Law: May 3-7, 2021
NALA is proud to celebrate Well-Being Week in Law May 3-7, 2021! This year, the focus has expanded beyond attorneys, and now, the week includes all legal professionals – especially paralegals and other legal support professionals.
 
NALA will be highlighting special topics throughout the week to help our members and other paralegals identify and manage the stressors and mental health issues in their professional and personal lives. Each recommends a video, an article and an activity that aligns with that day’s well-being dimension. Please monitor NALA Commons and our social media platforms May 3 through 7 for more information.

In this month’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion article, NALA member Bobby T. Rimas discusses the hate and violence increase against the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. As violence against the AAPI community continues to plague our country, Bobby shares ways we can be positive agents of change to help dismantle AAPI hate.
