The Board of NAFA's Chicago Chapter wants to thank everyone that attended and participated in September’s golf event. In the news: The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration recently held a listening session to gather feedback on Hours-of-Service regulations in an effort to alleviate unnecessary burdens on commercial vehicle drivers. U.S., Mexican, and Canadian negotiators announced on October 1, 2018, that a new agreement was reached. Renamed the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), the pact keeps the North American supply chain largely intact. A public meeting took place earlier in October to consider recommendations on how best to improve the New Car Assessment Program. The Department of Transportation issued Preparing for the Future of Transportation: Automated Vehicles 3.0, a new document detailing the Department’s comprehensive and multimodal approach to the future of autonomous vehicles.
