NAFA thanks Al Cavalli for his stewardship of the fleet industry, for seeing the way forward during 60 years in fleet and for recognizing the need for the close community our Association has become.

 

The NAFA Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization formed in 1976 to support the vehicle fleet industry, partnered with charity Rise Against Hunger during NAFA Fleet Management Association’s 2018 Institute & Expo to assemble 40,172 meals for people in developing countries – in just one hour.

The slate of NAFA webinars for 2018 is now online, including "How Fleet Leaders Identify Fleet-Ready Technologies to Avoid Risk When Deploying EVs," which takes place this Wednesday, June 20. Wholesale used vehicle prices (on a mix-, mileage-, and seasonally adjusted basis) increased 1.25 percent month-over-month in May. This brought the Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index to 134.2, which was a 4.9 percent increase from a year ago and the highest level since last November.

 

Features in this edition: The Federal Highway Administration has repealed a rule requiring states to track certain greenhouse gas emissions and work toward achieving emission-reduction targets on U.S. highways and interstates.

 

The Trump administration indefinitely delayed an announcement detailing changes to the renewable fuel standard, a program requiring transportation fuel to contain a minimum volume of biofuels. 

 

H.R. 3388, the SELF DRIVE Act, passed the House with bipartisan support on September 6, 2017. Now the House Energy and Commerce Committee is encouraging the Senate to take action on the legislation.

 

The Diesel Emission Reduction Act's Clean Diesel Funding Assistance Program would receive $100 million in funding under the House FY 2019 Interior and Environment appropriations bill passed by the House Appropriations Committee on June 6. If enacted, funding for the program will increase 33 percent over the current year funding level of $75 million.
