Although drivers don't consider marijuana to be quite as risky as alcohol when it comes to impaired driving, those who live in states that allow recreational use are more likely to view it as a highway safety problem than drivers in states without legalized use, a new Insurance Institute for Highway Safety survey indicates.

New Bolt EV models will add the latest in sensor technology, including laser-based LIDAR, cameras and radar, and will roll off the same Michigan assembly line producing the current (non-autonomous) retail version of the Chevy Bolt EV. GM delivered the first retail version of the long-range battery car to three customers in California.

The California Department of Motor Vehicles said it revoked the registration of 16 Uber self-driving cars after a battle with the ride-services company. The agency had demanded that Uber comply with regulations requiring a permit to test self-driving cars on public roads – just as 20 other auto and technology companies have done.
