NAFA’s Nominating Committee has completed its work and selected a candidate to fill the expiring term of a current member of the Board of Directors. The committee selected Sonya Girard, Fleet Manager and Project Specialist for IDEXX located in Westbrook, Maine; a leader in pet healthcare innovation. Girard has been with IDEXX since 1995.

Girard has been a NAFA Member since 2014 and is a member of NAFA's New England Chapter. “The Board shares a common mission of focusing on improvements that add value to the fleet industry,” Girard said. “To me, joining the Board is about having the opportunity to provide strategic and innovative insights that will help drive positive change and forward progress for fleet managers across North America.  I’m honored to have been selected and I look forward to working with this dynamic team.”

Girard's term on the Board of Directors will begin on February 20, 2020.

The Nominating Committee evaluated Candidate Consideration Forms submitted by members who wished to be considered for the highest leadership positions in NAFA. Each committee member evaluated every candidate on ten characteristics and skills deemed desirable by NAFA’s Board of Directors.
