New Jersey NAFA Chapter To Hold June Meeting At Grounds For Sculpture

On Tuesday, June 11, the New Jersey chapter will hold their chapter meeting at Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton (near Trenton). The speaker for the day will be Bill Robinson, Vice President International, Wheels, Inc. presenting the topic "Managing Green Initiatives." The cost to attend this meeting is $50.

In every market around the world, there is some discussion about how to manage Green Initiatives (although in Europe, they are usually called Blue initiatives). In Belgium, there are fleet companies who offer services that include a vehicle, bus passes, train vouchers, and other forms of public transportation. Some companies have offered a vehicle with a bike in the trunk. In their market, the salespeople drive to a business park and then make multiple calls in multiple buildings using the bike. In China, license plates (registrations) are auctioned off with a limited number available each month.

Obviously, few of these solutions will work in the U.S., but it is interesting to see how other markets address the issue and use those thoughts to spark some innovative thinking for our own situations. So what currently works in the U.S., what could work in the near future, and what Green Initiatives are coming farther down the road? These are the subjects Robinson intends to address in this meeting.

Grounds For Sculpture is a 42-acre public sculpture park located in Hamilton, NJ. It was founded in 1992 on the site of the former New Jersey State Fairgrounds by J. Seward Johnson to promote an understanding of and appreciation for contemporary sculpture for all people. Visitors to the park can enjoy the outdoor permanent collection, indoor seasonal exhibitions, and learn about contemporary sculpture through a variety of educational programs including workshops for adults and children, artist residencies and lectures, tours for adults, schoolchildren, toddlers, as well as touch tours for the blind.
