Edward J. Peper, Jr., U.S. Vice President of GM Fleet and Commercial Sales, will be taking part in a joint keynote address for the 2013 I&E. The panel will have representatives from the Detroit Three (Peper for General Motors; John Ruppert, General Manager of Ford Commercial Sales; and Jim Sassorossi, Director Fleet Sales at Chrysler) and will focus specifically on the needs of the fleet industry from Model Year 2014 and onward.

Peper was named U.S. Vice President of GM Fleet & Commercial Sales on June 1, 2012 after serving as the General Manager of the organization. In this position, he has overall responsibility for building relationships and growing sales with GM’s largest customers who are in the fleet and commercial segments. Prior to this move, Peper served as General Sales Manager for Cadillac starting in August 2009, where he was responsible for leading the Cadillac field organization and dealers. In that position, Peper helped to restore Cadillac’s sales momentum and built great relationships with its dealers.

Peper started his career with General Motors in 1984 as a Cadillac sales representative and has held a number of sales and marketing management positions since then. In between his first and most recent assignment with GM’s luxury brand, he served as Vice President of Sales for Saab Cars, USA, the Regional General Manager for GM in the Northeast Region, and he had two assignments with Chevrolet. From 2005 to 2007, he was the General Manager for Chevrolet and he was later named the North American Vice President for GM’s largest brand from 2007 through 2009. During his tenure at Chevrolet, he launched 22 new products and led the brand to total U.S. sales leadership in both 2005 and 2007.

NAFA’s annual Institute & Expo will take place April 23-26 at the Atlantic City Convention Center in Atlantic City, NJ. Fleet managers from throughout the United States and Canada will gather for over 60 hours of educational sessions, opportunities to network with the best and brightest professionals in the industry, and an Expo Floor featuring the latest products and services from the industry. Keynote presentations will be made by Peper and other executives from the Detroit 3; Janet Froetscher, President & CEO of the National Safety Council; and Derek Daly, former race car driver.
