NAFA To Participate At AltCar Expo Focus On Fleets, 9/28, Santa Monica, California

NAFA will be participating in the Focus on Fleets Conference on Friday, September 28, 9:00 a.m - 5:00 p.m. as part of the AltCar Expo and Conference. The event will be held at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, Santa Monica, CA. It is part of the two-day conference that extends to Saturday, September 29

The Focus on Fleets Conference supplies the Fleet Industry with the most cutting edge information on all aspects of alternative vehicle technology, infrastructure, and sustainability. As part of the AltCar Expo, attendees will learn all about alternative technology vehicles and transportation, infrastructure, renewable energies, energy efficiency, and urban planning.

The Networking Breakfast & Welcome, 9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., will be presented by NAFA Member and Chair of the Fuels and Technology Advisory Council Rick Sikes, CAFM, Fleet Superintendent, City of Santa Monica.

The morning keynote speech will be presented by Michael D. Antonovich, member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, representing the Fifth District (including the Antelope Valley, Santa Clarita, Pasadena, and parts of the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys).

The lunchtime speaker Eric Corey Freed will offer his presentation, Spills, Sins & Starbucks: How We Designed Our Cities Around Oil at 11:50 a.m. - 12:50 p.m. Freed is a Principal of organicARCHITECT, an architecture and consulting firm in California, with nearly twenty years of experience in green building. Freed was named by San Francisco Magazine "Best Green Architect" in 2005 and "Best Visionary" in 2007; and "Green Visionary" by 7x7 Magazine in 2008.

The 12:55 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. hour will offer an audience-driven discussion facilitated by NAFA Member Rick Longobart, Facilities, Fleet, and Stores Manager for the City of Santa Ana, CA. He will be joined by Panelists Dale Morin, Automotive Engineering Environmental & Training Manager, UPS - West Region and NAFA Member Paul Condran, Fleet Manager for the City of Culver City, CA.
