"Haul of Fame" Awards Established To Recognize Accident-Free Drivers

Auto transport company Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS) has established the Haul of Fame Awards, recognizing outstanding truck drivers that are part of the DAS driver network, who have accumulated million-mile increments accident-free.

The first Haul of Fame award recipients include: Jim Owens with five million miles; Anthony Dobbs and David Depasquale with four million miles; Vernon Mast with three million miles; Willie Lee, Gregory Ringo, and Dennis King with two million miles; and Richard Hilton, Alan Hubbell, and Robert McLemore with one million miles. DAS expects the Haul of Fame awards program to grow as DAS drivers maintain safe driving records.

"We are honored to have such high-caliber drivers as part of the DAS team and want to congratulate this group on an amazing achievement," stated John Roehll, Executive Vice President of DAS.

To qualify for the DAS Haul of Fame, drivers must have accumulated at least one million miles of accident-free driving throughout their entire career. the company references industry standards when classifying accident-free miles as mileage that does not include recordable, preventable collisions.

"Our program considers a driver’s total career mileage, not just the amount of miles they have driven on behalf of DAS," added Roehll. "All truck drivers face daily challenges, chaotic situations, and dangerous environments. Completing one million miles without an accident is an accomplishment regardless whose wheel you’re behind."

Once it is determined that a driver qualifies for the Haul of Fame, they are given an award with their name and mileage engraved on the front. Inductees are also presented with a crest-shaped vinyl sticker for their truck signaling to others that they are sharing the road with a safe driver. Once accepted into the Haul of Fame, the driver’s name is added to a plaque that hangs in the DAS corporate office.
