NAFA Looks At Advanced And Emerging Vehicle Technology At 2012 Institute & Expo

The media does its best to present the latest vehicle technologies in the rush to be the first to present the "Car of Tomorrow, Today." But all too often, these Cars of Tomorrow fail to materialize, new technologies become obsolete, and actual results fail to match initial promises. Fleet managers need to keep an eye on new and emerging vehicle technologies, but can’t afford to bet on the wrong horse. An educational session entitled Advanced And Emerging Vehicle Technologies will point them in the right direction.

The session will be held during NAFA’s 2012 Institute & Expo on Monday April 23 from 9:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at America’s Center in St. Louis, MO. One of over sixty educational sessions for fleet professionals throughout the conference, the session features an industry expert who will guide attendees through the maze of vehicle drive train technologies so they can determine which are right for them and their company’s needs.

Attendees will hear an overview of advanced vehicle technologies for commercial applications; which technologies are likely to survive long-term; which applications show the most promise for the future; and describes the tools to justify advanced vehicle-technology items from a total cost-of-ownership perspective.

Moderated by NAFA Senior Vice President Claude Masters, CAFM, Manager, Vehicle Acquisition and Fuel, Florida Power and Light and led by Bill Van Amburg, Senior Vice President, CALSTART, the discussion is for any fleet manager interested, or merely confused, by the adaption rate predictions made for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), Plug-In Electric Vehicles (PHEV), and Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV). This informative presentation seeks to separate science from fiction and notes which technologies will actually be there down the road.
