City of Mississauga Introduces New Buses

MiWay Transit, as part of the City of Mississauga’s bus fleet, has added new fuel efficient and fully accessible buses, in order to better serve customers.  The new buses will allow the City to move towards the goal of developing a transit-oriented city that is environmentally responsible, as announced by Geoff Marinoff, Director of Transit.

A key feature of the new buses, they will be of lighter weight, which will contribute to more efficient use of fuel.

Other new features include:
  • Larger windows
  • New fabric seating
  • LED lighting
  • Front entrance ramp
  • Automated next stop announcement technology
  • PRESTO card readers
  • Video/audio surveillance systems
A total of forty-three new buses will be in service by mid-November, replacing the last of the fifteen-year-old high-floor buses.
