In Memoriam: Helen Smorgans, Co-founder Of NAFA New Jersey Chapter

Former Fleet Manager for Johnson & Johnson and Member of NAFA’s National Board of Governors Helen M. Smorgans passed away on Monday, October 24.

Smorgans started in fleet in 1964 and oversaw approximately 1,500 vehicles throughout the United States and Puerto Rico while managing fleets for Johnson & Johnson Corporate (as well as ten Johnson & Johnson subsidiaries). Smorgans was the co-founder of the NAFA New Jersey Chapter, acted as its chairperson, and served on the National Board of Governors for NAFA.

Smorgans is survived by her husband Walter Smorgans; daughter Barbara Smorgans Marshall, her husband, Roger Marshall, of Burlington, VT.; and son, Walter M. Smorgans and his wife, Cindy, of Cambridge, VT.

The full Membership and Staff of NAFA offer their condolences to the Smorgans family, with gratitude for all Helen Smorgans has done for the Association.
