General Motors' Fleet Sales Rise In April

Fleet sales for General Motors' four brands saw a 31-percent increase in April, 75,868 for the month, with sales to commercial customers increasing twenty-one percent. This is the 13th consecutive month of commercial fleet sales gains, according to the company. Fleet sales accounted for thirty-three percent of GM's total sales during April.

Total sales of GM passenger cars improved fifty percent during April, led by the sale of 25,160 Cruzes and 24,701 Chevrolet Malibus. For the year-to-date, total sales for GM's full-size pickups are at 172,070 units, which represent a twenty-two percent increase. Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadillac each set April total and retail sales records for crossover sales, on the strength of a forty-nine percent increase in combined retail sales by the Equinox, Terrain, and SRX.
