Want to share your expertise? Do you have program ideas that would benefit your fleet industry peers? Here is a great chance to present them to a forum that's eager to listen and learn. The NAFA 2012 Institute & Expo is coming to America's Center, St. Louis, MO, April 21 - 24, 2012.

Take the first step in identifying the most relevant topics and issues facing fleet professionals today and submit your presentation proposal. All NAFA Members and Affiliates are invited to recommend ideas for topics and suggest speakers or panelists for consideration.

How it works: One year before the event, the Curriculum Committee is formed. The NAFA staff provides the overall structure for the program and supports the committees throughout the decision-making process. The Curriculum Committee is comprised of volunteers who represent all segments of the industry.

The committee tends to work from the big picture down to the details. The first step of planning consists of determining the issues believed to be most significant to attendees, then work to build those concepts into specific sessions. Sessions vary in length from 60-90 minutes. They generally involve single speakers or panels. Your proposal may be considered for participation in panel discussions rather than as a solo speaking opportunity.

Presentations are accepted April 25, 2011 through May 23, 2011. All presentation proposals must be submitted by May 23, 2011 to be considered.

All presentation submissions will be acknowledged via email upon receipt. Proposals will be reviewed by NAFA staff and members of the Curriculum Committee. Within two weeks of the June 2-4, 2011 Curriculum Committee Meeting you will be advised via email whether your submission has been chosen or not.

To better understand what NAFA will be looking for regarding presentations, familiarize yourself with our review criteria:

• Relevance to attendees.
• A well-defined topic with focused objectives.
• Practical application of material.
• Timeliness of topic.
• Original material.
• Overall perceived level and quality of session content.
• Completeness of presentation proposal.
• Speaker qualifications, including: previous presentations in topic area, participant evaluations of presenter(s) at previous events (if applicable), and speaking experience of presenter(s).

Sales pitches for products or services submitted as proposals will be eliminated.

The Curriculum Committee reserves to the right to:
• Select any – or none – of the submissions. A proposal may be exceptional, but inconsistent with the goals of the Curriculum Committees, duplicate another session, have legal/antitrust implications, or prove otherwise not acceptable.
• Change the length of time allotted to the presenter.
• Make decisions based on limited meeting space.
• Contact the applicants before, during, and after the review process for clarification.
• Include industry suppliers in a committee-generated session at the committee's discretion.
• Combine short sessions on similar topics.
