Sometimes doing the same thing year after year isn't boring at all; in fact, it can be downright rewarding.  For the third straight year, NAFA Fleet Management Association will be participating in a Habitat for Humanity project to kick off the Institute & Expo.

Fleet managers from throughout North America will be rolling up their sleeves and picking up paint brushes and hammers as they help make a difference in the local Charlotte community.  NAFA began its participation with Habitat for Humanity in 2009 when volunteers helped build homes in Katrina-ravaged New Orleans and continued the following year in Detroit.  All three years of Habitat for Humanity project participation were sponsored by LeasePlan USA, who is providing t-shirts and bottled water for the volunteers as well as paying for their lunch and transportation to the project.

"When NAFA began offering this opportunity two years ago--when the I&E was in New Orleans--I knew we had to get involved," said Michael Pitcher, President and CEO of LeasePlan USA. "Since I am a native of New Orleans, the project to restore New Orleans was very near and dear to my heart. It was such an amazing experience that LeasePlan has continued to sponsor and participate in the Habitat projects every year since."

The Habitat for Humanity project will take place on Friday, April 8.  Buses will depart from the Charlotte Westin at 7:30 a.m. and take the volunteers to the project where they will work until 4 p.m.  Along with providing a little sweat labor, both NAFA and LeasePlan will also make a contribution to help continue Habitat's ongoing mission.
