On January 16, NASA held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Kennedy Space Center in Orlando, FL, for their new LEED Certified building, which includes a solar panel parking structure and six electric vehicle charging stations.  NAFA Vice President Claude Masters, CAFM, was part of a select group of representatives from Florida Power & Light (FPL) to be on hand.

FPL brought two battery electric vehicles (BEV), a Ford Transit Connect, and a Navistar E-Star to demonstrate the progress made by electric vehicles for commercial applications.  Representatives from General Motors, Nissan, Tesla, Think, Coda, and Progress Energy brought electric vehicles as well.

"There was a great deal of interest from NASA officials regarding incorporating electric work vehicles like the Ford Transit Connect and the Navistar E-Star into their fleet," said Masters.
