General Motors is recalling more than 20,200 MY 2009-2010 Cadillac CTS and CTS-V vehicles after these models failed to comply with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)requirements.

During a crash, the front passenger may be at an increased risk of leg injury, according to the recall filed earlier this month by the NHTSA.

The recall is expected to begin about Oct. 20, with dealers replacing the glove compartment assembly or modifying the structure of the instrument panel free of charge, according to the filing and, in some vehicles, modify the instrument panel structure.

Owners may contact Cadillac at 1-866-982-2339 about GM safety recall number N100292. Owners may also contact NHTSA’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to http://www.safercar.gov. NHTSA Campaign ID number 10V414000.
