Local government’s fleets have a long history of collaboration. This sharing of information was mostly done between neighboring communities and at a very small scale. With the emergence of companies such as Lyft, Uber, and Airbnb, citizens are changing the way they think about access versus ownership. How will this shift in mentality affect the government sector?

This session, "How to Improve Equipment Utilization with Smart Sharing Practices" will be held Today, April 20, 4:15 - 5:15 pm on Level 4, in Room 18 c. It will teach you about how regional working groups can now work more effectively by searching online for equipment that is closer to them and how to use collaborative government to run an efficient and cost effective fleet. This course will also teach you about the new, web-based tools that are emerging in the government sector that can help improve equipment utilization by sharing equipment internally between departments and externally across jurisdictions.
