Jan Barowski received the Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering and information technologies from Ruhr University Bochum (RUB), Bochum, Germany, in 2017. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher and group leader with the Institute of Microwave Systems at RUB. His research interests include millimeterwave systems, radar signal processing, imaging, and millimeter wave material characterization techniques.
Dr. Barowski is an IEEE Senior Member. He is a board Member of the European Microwave Association (EUMA) Innovation Team. He is recipient of the IEEE AP-S Piergiorgio L. E. Uslenghi Letters Prize Paper Award in 2023, the Best Student Paper Award at the IEEE MTT-S IWMS-AMP 2017 and the IEEE AP-S Doctoral Research Award in 2016. In 2019 he served as Session Chair for the IEEE MTT-S IWMS-AMP 2019 and currently serves as Co-Chair for the European Microwave Conference (EUMC) 2023 as part of the European Microwave Week (EUMW) in Berlin.
