Were You There?

What a day it was! Those who came out to Royal Woodbine Golf Club enjoyed a wonderful day with their peers and friends. Golfers, novice to expert, enjoyed themselves over the 12-hole, custom-designed course. Yes, we once again managed to be off the course in three hours to enjoy the fabulous dinner and prize-filled banquet. You guessed it, we were done before 8 p.m. so everyone had the chance to get home and see their family or friends. A big shout-out and thank you to all of you who supported us, including our generous sponsors AV-CANADA, D.E. Systems, Le Saint Sulpice Hotel Montreal, Niagara Falls Business Events, Peller Estates, Pinpoint National Photography and STRONCO Group of Companies. Also, thanks to our media partners BizBash and Ignite. We could not do it without you. Hope to see you next year!

By the way, we took a poll at the banquet, and it was quite unanimous that moving the tournament to July may be in consideration for next year. Stay tuned!

It was a beautiful day for the shoreline cleanup event in partnership with the Toronto Region Conservation Foundation at Coronation Park. In less than two hours, we collected 20 kg of trash — mainly small bits of paper, plastic and cigarette butts. It's the small pieces that wildlife eat that stay in their system and eventually kill them.

Jasvinder Singh won the challenge of collecting the most trash. He filled two buckets.

Everyone enjoyed the activity and contributed to the activity.

Thanks to Freeman Audio Visual Canada for providing a grant to make this activity possible.

Design Thinking & Thought-Provoking Panel

The session on July 16 was well-attended and discussed one of the industry’s trending topics: design thinking. This workshop was presented by keynote speaker Chris Chambers, CEO at MJM Creative, who discussed the theories and practical applications of design thinking. Chambers also shared his best practices around brainstorming, thinking outside-the-box and persuasion!

The Radisson Admiral Hotel Toronto-Harbourfront was an amazing host with tons of delicious food. The workshop ended with an inspiring panel with a variety of experiences that shared their interpretation of event design. The networking portion took place at The Wine Shop with an assortment of wines to choose from!

Thanks to our sponsors Radisson Admiral Toronto Harbourfront, Quest Audio Visual, Pinpoint National Photography, D.E. Systems, Peller Estates Winery and our media partners BizBash and Ignite.

Join us on Oct. 16 for the next professional development session.
