Are you wondering what it will be like to travel to one of our amazing Canadian destinations? On May 18, MPI hosted a Just Networking event with representatives from Canadian destinations highlighting insights and top attractions in their respective cities. It was surely educational and interesting to kickstart your plan to travel again and book your next trip, whether it’s business or personal.

Mandy Moon from Explore Edmonton Corp. provided her bucket list ideas for Edmonton and Jasper:


  • Winter in Edmonton, check out: Ice Castles and Flying Canoe Festival
  • Summer in Edmonton, visit: Fringe Festival – largest in North America; Fort Edmonton Park; Elk Island National Park and Neon Museum
  • Year-round highlights in Edmonton: Northern lights, which is the strongest in the winter
  • When in Jasper, visit: Marmot Basin, known for skiing and snowboarding; Jasper Tram and Maligne Canyon
  • Other places to visit while in Alberta: Icefields Parkway, Lake Louise, Banff and Calgary

Pat Gappmayr from Tourism Kelowna provided her top 10 bucket list ideas for Kelowna:

  • Hiking at Myra Canyon
  • Okanagan Lavender Farm
  • Okanagan Lake
  • Moccasin Trails
  • Caldwell Heritage Farm, the first ever Chicken Roller Derby League took place. You haven’t lived until you’ve seen hens on roller skates.
  • Yoga, outdoor or indoor
  • Skiing at Big White and Silver Star
  • Golfing – 19+ courses across the region
  • Food experiences
  • Wineries – 26+ wineries available

Brandon Gillis from Meetings & Conventions at PEI gave us a list of must-see and must-do for PEI:

  • "Anne of Green Gables," the musical – it is the longest-running show started in 1965
  • Cavendish Beach Music Festival for those who enjoy country music
  • Boardwalk in Charlottetown
  • Lobster on the Wharf restaurant where you can enjoy oysters and lobster rolls
  • Victoria Row – pedestrian street with restaurants, cafes and gift shops
  • Cows Ice Cream – a must-try experience

Susan Prophet from Quebec City Business Destination took us on a dine around Quebec City to discover different flavours with a sightseeing tour along the way.

We visited Place Royale, Notre-Dame and Old Port. The dining tour included:

  • Le Cochon Dingue
  • Le Lapin Sauté
  • Chez Rioux & Pettigrew
  • Chez Boulay – Boreal Bistro
  • Traiteur George V (caterer) / Manège Militaire (venue)

Debbie Miller from Destination Toronto shared her bucket list for Toronto:

  • Casa Loma on a Monday for Soul in the City
  • Bata Shoe Museum
  • Second City
  • Edge Walk at the CN Tower
  • Niagara Falls and area wineries
  • Drive on the Gardiner Expressway at night to see the skyline
  • Singapore Slaw for the best food in Toronto
