Being the best while planning for the worst!

On May 15, there was a buzz in the room. Old faces and newcomers came together at the Broadview Hotel to experience practical PD content with Jenn Houtby-Ferguson on emergency preparedness and crisis communication.

Jenn walked us through emergency preparedness and destination disaster communication. She shared real examples of events that have taken place as well as how they were managed and what critical incident protocols needed to be followed.

Attendees walked away with templates on how to create their own critical incident protocols to help prepare staff or support attendees during and after a disaster. This was an eye-opening session for all in that preparing and planning for potential emergencies is a priority to ensure the success of any event.
