The mood was buzzing and the cheer was in the air at this year's annual MPI Holiday Gala, which took place on December 1 at the NEW Delta Toronto Hotel.

We were honoured to be one of the first organizations to hold our gala at the hotel, and the overall experience that Delta offered did not disappoint!

With a rapidly sold-out event of 450 tickets, the demand to attend was so overwhelming that we managed to squeeze in a few more delighted guests by creating some tables of 11 – for a total of 462 attendees!

The evening kicked off with an outstanding reception featuring a selection of food stations and passed h'dourves to satisfy even the most discerning of taste buds. Some delicious items worth mentioning were fresh shucked oysters, a live sushi station, and ... did someone say chocolate? The "create your own" chocolate bar station was by far one of the coolest and more unique goodies to take away.

There was also a vast array of items available at the silent auction, which was a huge success. This year, the live auction, which took place just after dinner, really lifted the already exciting mood in the room while creating some friendly competition for some big prizes!

The Bright Lights, Big City theme was the perfect fit for the location and was evident in many aspects throughout the night. During dinner, the Toronto skyline backdrop transformed from sunset to a star-filled snowy evening, giving the warm, fuzzy feeling of holidays in the city.

Perhaps one of the most rewarding aspects of the evening was the charity tree-lighting challenge. Not only did guests have a chance to win some amazing raffle prizes, but they also had the chance to give back and have fun! We managed to surpass our goal, and we were left with a fully-lit tree and the joy of accomplishing something wonderful!

If this did not create enough excitement, let's not forget the surprise rapping performance by Peter Joint, who was presented by Ottawa Tourism and the Shaw Centre. Everyone's faces lit up when Peter appeared during dinner, seemingly out of nowhere, and rapped his way to the stage – an exhilarating performance that erupted the room into cheer!

Thanks to everyone who made it out – we really hope we got your holidays off to an exciting start and cannot wait to see you all again next year. Relationships were built, meaningful connections were made, and the holiday spirit rang throughout: definitely an industry event of the year!

A very special thanks to our event sponsors Delta Toronto Hotel, Delta Hotels & Resorts, Freeman Audio Visual Canada, D.E. Systems, Ottawa Tourism, Peller Estates Winery, Shaw Centre, Susan Murray International, and The Image Commission.
