We're excited to share the highlights from our time at Santa Anita Park. On December 1, 2022, the Meeting of the Minds event - a fun and engaging event that left attendees excited and re-energized.

The event included networking, discussion panelists, table discussions, amazing décor, and an impressive lineup of panelists presenting on pertinent topics.

Take a look at the highlights and photos of this great event!

Grow
Dear MPISCC Members, I trust that you and your families are doing well and ready for the holidays! How is it that we are already approaching the end of 2022?! The year has flown by, and I am thankful for the growth and experiences it has given us.

My friends and colleagues, it is time for 2023-2024 term board applications! Our chapter continues to thrive despite the adversity we have experienced in the last few years. Many thanks to the leaders who have served, especially to our current President, Amy Zelinsky, who led the charge in reunifying two chapters. As we continue to grow, and help move our industry forward, we need individuals with diverse, strategic, and creative mindsets to take us to the next level.

The chapter needs people like YOU, who have a passion for the meetings and events industry. I am encouraging you to apply for a position with MPISCC’s leadership team. As a member of the board of directors, you will have an opportunity to share your expertise, gain and strengthen connections, learn a new skillset, and expand your knowledge in many different areas. Most importantly, YOU will be of service to others and will have a huge impact in our industry while growing personally and professionally. It is a great way to give back to the meetings and events community!

You can find more information about the different roles and responsibilities here. MPISCC VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES I’d love to chat with you more about each role and help you find the best board position. You can reach me at mailim.mpiscc@gmail.com or at 702.355.1976.

Thank you for your interest, and I look forward to serving with you!

At the end of November, the MPI Southern California Chapter lost one of our beloved members, Joella Michael, after her battle with cancer. Joella had a great heart and was well respected within the MPI community. Her contributions over the years were many. Most recently, she served on the Board of Directors as the Director of Special Events and was responsible for organizing the 2021 “Grateful Gathering” fundraising event. Joella will be sorely missed as our friend and colleague. We honor her and her contributions and send love and light to her family.
