BMW Ultimate Driving Experience with MPISCC Recap by Chrissy Thompson

Attendees started with a tour of The Thermal Club, the private side of the Center — perfect for groups. A COVID-times-friendly boxed lunch was provided before the group headed into an instructor safety briefing. They then split into smaller subgroups to do a lead-follow exercise in BMW M4s, learning ideal driving lines behind an instructor. Brave attendees could get up to triple digit speeds.

Next, the smaller groups went into three exhilarating driving sessions: an off-road course in BMW X7s, a timed race in M240is and a rat race in M340is. The top three lap time winners earned medals — notably, the gold and silver winners happened to be a mother-son duo, Viera and Kail Ewell. Mom won gold, naturally. Bronze was won by Laura Biery.

Before heading out, as a fun finish to the event, guests were also able to experience a “Hot Lap” where three participants at a time rode with a professional driver to truly experience what The Ultimate Driving Machine® is capable of.

While I was not able to attend this event, I look forward to visiting the Center at another time either on my own or with a corporate group, trading out Zoom for some zooming around the racetrack!
