Shaken, Not Stirred: Transforming a Setback into Your Greatest Comeback set out to teach attendees how to practice servanthood sales strategy and rebrand their professional persona in a virtual world, while also sharing tangible methods to increase productivity. Although only two hours long, the wonderful people behind this MPISCC event managed to squeeze in an ample amount of information, fun, and optimism.

More on the event and key takeaways

The online event was broken up into three key sections: a masterclass, a networking session, and a keynote presentation. Each component was hosted by a different speaker, with the audience seamlessly transitioning from one section to the next with a click of a button.

They kicked things off with a fascinating 30-minute masterclass presented by Zoe Moore from the CADAZO consulting group. She discussed how to strategically implement diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the meetings and events industry while answering the audience's questions. With resources and actionable frameworks, we left with the understanding and knowledge to move towards becoming DEI change-makers.

For the next event, we hit off a 30-minute cocktail-making session with Jennifer Disotell from The Bubble Tap. She walked us through delicious holiday cocktails and even included a specialty mocktail! This was the perfect opportunity to soak in what we learned from the previous presentation and unwind with a great drink before digging into the next session.

For the final presentation, keynote speaker Courtney Stanley gave us a remarkable one-hour talk about transforming setbacks into comebacks. Courtney stressed the importance of coming together and pushing through the uncertainty. She also touched on several topics that can assist us in moving forward including dealing with the five stages of grief, planning an effective strategy and becoming an empathetic leader.

All in all, this event was one for the books. Through their speaker lineup and activities, the MPI Southern California Chapter perfectly balanced professional growth with much-needed fun!
