IMEX America—considered by many to be the Super Bowl of the events industry—took place in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 10-12, 2019. This year’s extravaganza was held at the Sands Convention Center and brought thousands of professionals to connect and exchange ideas. IMEX Group Chairman Ray Bloom reported that a record-breaking 13,000 participants took part in the event. Among the 6,000-plus were more than 3,300 hosted buyers. Over 70,000 appointments were made, including 64,000 individual appointments and booth presentations which was an increase of seven percent from 2018. "This was the largest ever IMEX," Bloom said. Educational topics included future industry trends, sustainability, technology, destination updates, creative learning, diversity and inclusion, marketing communication, senior planner skills, and much more.

Several MPISCC board and chapter members attended IMEX to represent the chapter and got together for an MPISCC meet up.

The ninth edition of IMEX America came to a close after a week that left no one in doubt about the strength, vitality and appetite of business that currently defines our industry. Until next year, IMEX!  Save the dates for IMEX 2020—September 15-17. See you there!
