Join us on Wednesday, May 11 at the Residence Inn Times Square for an MPIGNY Education Session on Invincible Sourcing: Strategies to Dramatically Improve Venue Negotiations.

Digital transformation is creating a tidal wave of planner disruptions. Sourcing methods that worked for years fall short in today's digital marketplace. Yet amid the disruption comes new opportunities to seize. It's the savvy planner who will win big, as they make the necessary shifts to avoid risks and penalties, while reaping more rewards. In this interactive session, we'll explore breakthrough research from the Maritz Institute on buyer/seller dynamics, plus identify sourcing strategy shifts best poised to drive winning outcomes.

About our speaker, Andy Smith, Senior Vice President – ESN & Strategic Sourcing Experient – A Maritz Travel Company:

Since 1980, Andy’s career has focused on developing the entrepreneurial skills of industry professionals in the tour, travel, meetings and convention industry. In 2001, he joined Experient shortly after the organization began developing a team of independent professionals leveraging Experient’s brand and thought leadership. In 2006, Andy took over leadership of the growing ESN team that now represents the brands of Maritz and Experient. Members of the ESN average more than $2,000,000 in hotel room revenue production annually.

The Past 30...

Spring is the perfect time to enjoy Madison Square Park so it was fitting to host our April After Six Mix at Black Barn on the park’s north edge. The Farm-To-Table concept is carried on in the venues beautiful décor. Whitewashed barn board walls, steel paneling and an elaborate overhead maze of raw crisscrossed beams give a unique personality to the space.

More than 40 guests and members enjoyed delicious hors d’oeuvres and libations while networking. With three private dining rooms, including a loft overlooking the main dining room and a kitchen-adjacent Chef’s table, Black Barn can accommodate even your most discerning foodies.

On April 14, 2016, leaders from across the meetings and events industry came together at the 3 West Club, to support the first Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID). GMID showcased the real impact that business meetings, conferences, conventions, incentive travel, tradeshows and exhibitions have on people, business and communities.

Thank you for supporting MPIGNY and NYPCMA as we joined together in support of our industry and GMID for this successful event.

Meet Our Volunteers

Annie Kojundzija
volunteers for the Networking Committee as the Chair of After Six Mix. So, of course, her favorite MPIGNY program is this same event! She has volunteered since 2009 and has served on various committees including, Marketing, NY Mix, Sponsorship and now Networking.

When asked what inspired her to volunteer for MPIGNY, Annie said, "It was a great way to meet members, get involved and feel like you’re making a difference."

Thank you for all you do, Annie! We appreciate your hard work and dedication. To everyone out there, be sure to say hi to Annie – and to thank her in person – at the next After Six Mix!
