MPIGNY 30/30
Message from Our President

It's hard to tell what season it is around here with the weather we've been having lately. Regardless, we have our eyes on spring time and we'll be shaking off the winter blue with our Spring Fling Networking Mixer at The Palm Tribeca. It's next Monday, March 7. Don't miss out ... register today!

And don't miss out on a very special education event presented by the Disney Institute on March 22 at the Millennium Broadway. Presented by Dee Byrnes, we'll learn about Disney's Approach to Employee Engagement.

Whether spring is in the air or not, join us as we network and educate ourselves and connect with our industry colleagues!

The Next 30...And Beyond

We know it’s not quite spring and no, we’re not going to the desert but we are going to shake off those winter blues. Celebrate the coming season by joining fellow MPIGNY members at our Spring Fling networking social on Monday, March 7 at 6 p.m.

Can it get any better than the New York classic Steakhouse, The Palm? We’re going to take over their private dining room at their Tribeca location overlooking West Street. They’ll be serving some of their signature menu items along with sommelier selected wines and spirits. This will be a great setting to make new connections and refresh your industry network.

The most creative minds and famous personalities in the events industry are on Instagram—and so are you. But there’s one big difference: The cool kids and tech-savvy event management companies have thousands of followers—and you don’t. (MeetingsNet)

Nothing’s worse than awkward elevator silence, especially when you’re riding the elevator with your company’s CEO, or you’re attending a networking event. You stand there contemplating, "Should I say something?" or "How do I introduce myself?" (Association Adviser)

Meet Our Volunteers
Please meet Natasha Shah. During the day she is the Director of Global Conference & Incentive Sales, East Coast for Rocco Forte Hotels. But when she has her MPIGNY hat on, she volunteers for not just one, but two committees!

What committee do you volunteer for? Education and Golf.

What inspired you to volunteer for MPIGNY? I felt it wasn't enough to just be a member and show up to events when my schedule allowed. My experience with MPIGNY and what I get out of it in terms of connections and relationships has increased tenfold by volunteering. I feel that I am really able to get to know my fellow members, and it's a great feeling to be contributing to the success of our chapter!

How long have you volunteered? I attended the new member orientation in September 2015 at the Octoberfest event at Tavern on the Green and spent time chatting with Ramel about volunteering for the Education Committee that very night.

What is your favorite MPIGNY event? I haven't been to one that I haven't enjoyed. The After Six Mixes are an easy casual way to catch up with fellow members and our education events are some of the best in the organization (and I've been to many different chapter events all over the East Coast!)
