Annual Industry Summer Bash – Novotel Times Square

The power of networks is often judged by the number of people who use them ... Summer Bash takes networking to the next level!

Join the members of over 15 NY-area hospitality, tourism and marketing professional associations and their guests for an exciting evening of cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and networking, on the Supernova Terrace at the Novotel NY Times Square.

A special silent auction will be held to support the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge NY, our student scholarship fund and the SYTA Youth Foundation ... so remember to bring your credit card or checkbook to win great travel and entertainment prizes and more while helping a good cause.  If you are interested in donating a prize for the auction, please email Liz Gilbert at lgilbert@entertainmentcruises.com.

The MPIGNY calendar year officially kicked off on July 1, and we have a lot of great ideas and work to do for our members this year. Are you creative, a hard worker, task-oriented, new to the industry, a seasoned pro, looking to make a difference, wanting to learn more, hoping to impress the boss? If you are one, any, or all of those, then our leaders need you this year. Maybe you have one hour a month to give, maybe you have more. We have the right volunteer opportunity for you. Go to VOLUNTEER HERE, check out the committees that need your help, and fill out a quick volunteer form today. Someone from the Membership Engagement team will contact you to setup a short phone call to discuss your interest. If you have questions, contact our Director of Membership Engagement Christina Conway at cconway@humanscale.com or the VP of Membership, Tom Andrika at tom@fourthwallevents.com.

The Past 30...
The 24th annual edition of the MPIGNY Hard Rock Café Golf Outing was a huge success with more than 175 attendees and one of the 10 best days (weather-wise) of the summer. Harbor Links Golf Course in Port Washington, NY, pulled out all the stops to insure that the outing lived up to and exceeded expectations. Special thanks to all of our sponsors ... without them, this outing would not exist. Their commitment and creativity make this event more than just another golf outing. It was a fun-filled day of networking and catching up with clients and colleagues. MPIGNY President Robert Sanders took three foursomes and, with the low team score, was the winner of the Penfold Cup. A surprise guest at the outing was Kevin Kirby, MPI’s Chairman for 2014-2015, who got up and said that he’s attended a lot of events around the globe and (I’m paraphrasing) this outing was one of the best. Quite a compliment. The event raised more than $40,000 for chapter programming and scholarships. We are already planning for next year when we will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Golf Outing. So mark your calendar now and save the date...Wednesday, July 27, 2016.

Ping Pong anyone? The competition heated up at our July After Six Mix. SPiN NYC went over the top and threw us an outright party! In addition to reserving their private lounge, we had eight tables all to ourselves and pros were on hand to play along, teach and show off their ping-pong styling. There were plenty of new faces in attendance plus some members we hadn't seen in a bit. I'm not sure what was more intense, the ping pong or the networking.

SPiN set their private lounge with a huge buffet showcasing some of the items they will feature for this season's holiday parties. Tenderloin, tapas, antipasto, BBQ plus delicious passed hors d’oeuvres, and cannot forget the desserts. Yum! Looking for something fun and different to do with your next group? Whether to foster some friendly competition or just blow off some office steam, check out SPiN NYC.

After Six Mix will be hosted on 8/26 so please mark your calendars to save the date. The location will be announced shortly!
