On Thursday, Oct. 22, we held our inaugural MPIGNY Education & Expo (EdX) sponsored by Meet Virtually and Kalahari Resorts. EdX introduced a state-of-the-art, alternate virtual platform for the purpose of education and networking during the COVID-19 pandemic. More dynamic than a simple Zoom call, EdX was a fully immersive, half-day digital experience where planners and suppliers had the opportunity to learn, connect and be entertained all at once.

The MPIGNY education theme for the new year is Adapting – Shift Happens, which was woven throughout EdX starting with Sekou Andrews’ inspiring live and enhanced virtual keynote on resilience and harnessing change to create new possibilities. Concurrent breakout sessions followed with practical applications of adapting to change – updating your LinkedIn presence with Dawn Rasmussen, CMP, certified resume writer, getting the quintessential playbook on virtual events with Chris Chambers and getting real tips and lessons learned on recent live and hybrid events from Katie Bohrer, CMP.

Attendees also visited the All Spirits Networking Lounge as well as virtual exhibit booths sponsored by:

We capped off EdX with Discover Puerto Rico’s Networking Reception where Lin-Manuel Miranda took us on a tour through charming old San Juan! Stay tuned for more education events coming later this year for your continuing education and to keep you inspired!

Not only was Thursday, Oct. 22 a day of education and networking, we ended the day with a celebration of our chapter! Celebrating the successes of our chapter and members was such a breath of fresh air,  especially during such trying times. As the saying goes, "it takes a village," and the hard work and dedication that went into making this day possible was no small feat. While we could not celebrate together, presenting virtually from Shubert World Stages Theater was a fantastic experience! Without their partnership, this production could not have been possible, and we cannot thank them enough!

If you were unable to log in live, join us to celebrate and congratulate the winners!
