Hello Chapter Members!
As we embrace the vibrant energy of summer in New York, I am thrilled to connect with you through our July newsletter. This season is a time of renewal, creativity, and opportunity, and it is with great enthusiasm that I share the latest updates and initiatives from our chapter.
33rd Annual MPI Greater New York Kalahari Resorts Golf Outing We are excited to host the MPI Greater New York Kalahari Resorts Golf Outing on Thursday, July 25. This will be the 33rd year of this annual tradition, and we are geared up to bring you the best one yet! This year, we are thrilled to be hosting this wonderful event at a new venue, the New York Country Club. Nestled in the hills of Rockland County, New York Country Club is home to some of the most scenic locations in the tristate area. Located only 15 minutes from the Tappan Zee Bridge and a 30-minute drive from the George Washington Bridge, it has been voted one of the “Best Places to Play” by Golf Digest. The grounds and facilities, designed by renowned architect Stephen Kay, feature expansive views of the Manhattan skyline and top-of-the-line amenities, offering the ultimate country club experience.
Ways to Participate and Give Back There are many ways to participate even if you are not a golfer. For those not golfing, you can join several different activities throughout the day. Giving back to our local community is important to our chapter, and we will be filling backpacks to donate to Lexington Academy on East 104th Street, New York. This initiative will ensure that children at this school have the necessary tools they need for when they start the new school year in September.

Enjoy the Summer I hope that during the summer you will take some time off to enjoy the outdoors, the beach, the pool, barbeques, and just connect with friends and family. I look forward to seeing you all at future events.

We warned you... We told you to register, even if don't play golf.
We hinted at the FOMO, and we tugged at your heartstrings with our amazing CSR activity.
Did you listen? If not, here's your last warning:
Non-Golfer Activities:
Lunch on the Green Join all of the other golfers, non-golfers, and sponsors for an amazing picnic on the greens. We're not giving you all of the details, but come hungry! And come ready to forge new connections, blossom some friendships, and maybe even do some business.
CSR Its time to give back: there's nothing like a great CSR activity to give you the warm fuzzies if the sun isn't shining bright enough for you. We will be filling backpacks to donate to Lexington Academy on East 104th Street.
** Even if you can't make it out – and especially if you can – please take 5 minutes to go online and spend a few bucks to help us fill those backpacks!**
Have some spare items from your office or kiddos at home? Connect with Jennifer, our CSR director, to confirm your stash and get instructions for the delivery.
NEW ACTIVITY ALERT: Tastes of Summer Spritzes: From Bitter to Sweet - A Golf Day Adventure for Non-Golfers The spritz – no matter the flavor – has quickly become the preferred drink of summer. It’s come a long way from the days of simply white-wine-and-seltzer and options reach far beyond the popular Aperol cocktail, including incredible non-alcoholic options.
The team from Mary Giuliani Catering and Events (MGCE) will guide us through the spritz journey, from bitter, aromatic flavors to floral and sweet. We will recreate popular recipes and mix our own creations using a wide array of bitters and amaros, with a number of NA selections to choose from. Each flavor from bitter to sweet will be accompanied by a small bite to further enhance the tastes.
No matter what you put in them, fizzy spritzes are refreshing. And while the template (something fruity, bitter, or rich lightened with something fizzy) doesn’t vary all that much, the flavor options are endless. Find your new favorite bubbly delight during this session!
Cocktail Hour and Awards Dinner Has your spritz sputtered out? Grab another drink at the bar and get ready for the grand finale: the Awards Dinner. Pictures, prizes, and put-puts galore... You are sure to laugh off your few remaining calories before snoozing on the bus back home. Don't miss out, register now!

Dear Friends:
Pat Ahaesy, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024. She was 83 and lived a long, busy, successful, and happy life. She leaves behind husband Vince, and her three children: sons Marc and David Preiser, and daughter Tracey Powers, along with her wonderful grandsons: Max and Oliver Preiser, and Henry and Sam Powers.
Originally a schoolteacher, later in life Pat spent many years as a travel agent before joining her husband Vince in the special events industry. Together they ran P&V Enterprises for over 20 years, an event planning and production company, where they produced hundreds of live, hybrid, and virtual events in the New York area, nationally and internationally.
Pat was often requested as a speaker and panelist at events and industry conferences, and journalists in the industry occasionally reached out to her for interviews and commentary. She also served as President of the New York chapter of NAWBO and was active in events industry groups including MPIGNY and ILEA. Her family and friends will miss her terribly but will always hold Pat in a special place in their hearts. In lieu of flowers the family would like a donation given to the ASPCA.
