Message from Our President
Dear Chapter Members, As we commemorate Black History Month, it's essential to reflect on the profound contributions and enduring legacy of Black individuals throughout history. This month serves as a reminder to honor the achievements, resilience, and rich cultural heritage of the Black community. From trailblazers who fought for Civil Rights, Leaders, Artists, Activists and Innovators who have shaped our society, Black Americans have made indelible marks in every facet of our nation's history. Their courage, perseverance, and determination continue to inspire us all. As we celebrate Black History Month, let us also recommit ourselves to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within our association and beyond. Together, let us strive to create a more just and equitable future for all. MEET OUR VOLUNTEERS: THE DIRECTORS' DEN
"No weapon formed against me shall prosper." I am currently a Sales Events Specialist with The Bermuda Tourism Authority. Outside of work, I am passionate about traveling (experiencing new cultures) and family (especially my 4-year-old niece). I have been a member of MPIGNY for six months. Being connected with new buyers, getting to know professionals within this industry, and being able to learn from individuals' experiences to apply it in my day-to-day duties has been AMAZING for me. I am adding to my network, building, and able to call on numerous people to assist with curating events. Expanding your network is powerful. My focus as an MPI member is making new connections. As a representative of Bermuda and being a Bermudian, I am always looking to spread the great news of my island home and share why you should visit and bring your business to our shores. My hope for this year is to continue to build meaningful contacts and I'll be sure to keep learning from the industry veterans.
"Never be limited by other people's limited imaginations." - Dr. Mae Jemison I work in business development for MJM CREATIVE, part of the WPP family of agencies, with a focus on internal communication event production. Outside of work, I'm passionate about my wife and kids, and the lessons taught to you by engaging in and being around sports. I've been a member of MPI for 10 years. During this time, I have been able to see how the various roles within in the industry are inextricably linked to the same outcome, which is successful experience(s). My key focus this year is on purposeful and impactful stewardship. This is an issue that is often spoken of but mostly not acted upon in a real and authentic manner.
This year, I hope that we all can accept people the way they are. Do not expect and demand that people fit your mold. Understanding is the first step to acceptance, and only with acceptance can there be recovery. MEET OUR VOLUNTEERS: MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Meetings are about to get weird, www.computerworld.com/article/3712820 Is this kind? If every decision made by every person at work—where many of us spend most of our daily lives—were to begin with that one question, what would the workplace look like? Laura Tan told Newsweek: "There has to be a middle ground between previous 'hardcore' attitudes towards productivity that aren't healthy and a new emerging attitude that feels a bit 'anti-work' and anti-ambition." To Tan, kind productivity aims to be a "softer" take on what it means to be productive. It still entails making progress "but isn't just about killing yourself for personal/financial gain."
