Message from Our President

Dear Members,

We want to express our strong support for our chapter members who are passionate about Israel. We grieve for the victims of these inhumane terror attacks. We grieve for the innocent Palestinians who are suffering and have died. Your commitment to peace, security, and understanding is greatly valued within our community.

As members of our chapter, you play a crucial role in raising awareness, advocating for effective counterterrorism measures, and fostering greater understanding of the complex challenges Israel faces. We stand with you in your efforts and are here to provide a platform for informed discussions, education, and collaboration. Together, we can work towards a more peaceful and secure world.
Thank you for your commitment to these vital causes, and we are proud to have you as part of our community.

Warm regards,

Jennifer Rondinelli
President, MPIGNY

MEET OUR VOLUNTEERS: THE DIRECTORS' DEN

My Favorite quote is "She believed she could and so she did." I even have it tattooed on me. You didn't ask, but I love to share – my go-to fun fact is I have 12 tattoos but 11 of them you will never see unless I want you to.

I recently started working for Horizon Media, a media advertising agency with clients such as Capital One, Hershey, and Sam's Club. I am the Manager of Events. I oversee all logistical details for client meetings and new business pitch meetings. I also work with a variety of our vendors such as Sirius XM/Pandora and Snapchat to put on events for our staff. And finally, I oversee all of our employee engagement events such as summer socials, monthly happy hours, and our annual holiday party. I work with over 1500 employees between our New York, Los Angeles, and Toronto offices.

Outside of work, I love crafts such as making stickers, vinyl, clothes, mugs, and other items. I also plan in my paper planner, read, listen to music, and watch a lot of reality competition shows. My favorite is the "Amazing Race."

I have been with MPIGNY since 2010. I was only a member for two years before stepping away due to not feeling valued or included. In 2017, thanks to the phenomenal Jennifer Rondinelli, I rejoined MPI and have never looked back. MPIGNY has impacted me personally by giving me such dear friends. Professionally, MPIGNY has helped me meet so many new contacts in the industry that I have been able to collaborate with.

My key focus for MPIGNY is bringing more planners and suppliers together by getting more planners to sign up to play on foursomes at our annual Golf Tournament. I hope our members see how welcome they will feel if they participate. We are a great group, but for some reason we only have large turnouts for our signature events. I want members to know the smaller events are great to attend as well and beneficial to networking and meeting new people.
MEET OUR VOLUNTEERS: MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Three Words That Describe Me: Unapologetic, driven, and deliberate.

It is very important to stay true to yourself and continue to grow. Be grateful for who you are. The only permanence in life is change. That has always stuck with me. As you progress in your career, a lot of change will occur. A lot of people will stay stagnant, but in my journey, once I am content somewhere I always want and look for more.

In my position, I worked on a really cool concert event with a big communications company in Los Angeles featuring actors from "Hamilton" and "Freestyle Love Supreme." We had been working on it for nine months and were always on our toes due to the pandemic. Three days before we left for Los Angeles, we had many of our performers scheduled to attend test positive for Covid, so we really had to think on our feet and adjust how to run the event. My role depends a lot on what others do and how others are feeling, so it’s really great to have contingencies and backup plans for such a large event. It was change in action.

Broadway Plus, pre-pandemic, was the only official company that was licensed to offer VIP tickets and exclusive experiences with different Broadway shows. We later had companies reach out to us about large groups seeing a show on tour and they would also want to do a party with cast members. This laid the groundwork for what we do now working with clients and developing relationships for parties and larger events. Because of this, we needed a large network of individuals to work on these events with us. That’s why I joined MPIGNY. We wanted to connect with event planners and give individuals exclusive tickets and access to Broadway. It’s been great to meet all of the event planning community in the greater New York area.

I’d like other members to know that I am someone whose professional and personal lives intertwine. When I have someone ask me for a show recommendation or need tickets to something, I am always happy to help with that sort of thing both personally and professionally. To me it is all about relationships, and I am lucky that I sell something I really love. I like meeting different people, learning, and finding new ways to build my network.

Fail to Win: How Breaking Down Can Build You Up
From a young age, we are taught that success is winning, and we train ourselves and others to view failure as a disappointment. In adulthood, our professional lens often reflects a victory mindset that sees failure as disaster. But what if it’s not? What if we viewed failure as a necessary and needed component of success? Join this conversation about why we need failure to improve and how mistakes lead to better takes in the future. Discover how being wrong can be a benefit and how learning from failures can bring on great success.

Learner Outcomes:

  • Discover why we are taught to avoid mistakes and failure.
  • Reflect on your own failures with your peers and share how they have led you to successful outcomes.
  • Learn from your own failures and those of others with lessons on how you can react differently and enable your teams for success.
