April showers bring May flowers… Not that we had a lot of rain but looking forward to the temperatures rising as we close in on Summer!

We had a busy month in April. A team made up of MPIGNY members took part in the Cycle for Survival at Wollman Rink on April 29 to raise money for rare cancer research. Shout out to all that took part in the event and to all that donated. The team was able to raise nearly $3,000. A great effort by all!

On April 19, we wrapped up our Education Series for the 22/23 Board Term with a DEI Checkup at Ease605. The group listened to a great panel discussion made up of Rutz Katz from Morgan Stanley, Jeff Orlowsky from Macquarie and Josh Novick from London & Partners and facilitated by Anyelis Codero, CEO, Propel on Purpose. The event was capped off with a reception with exhibits by a number of women-owned businesses. It was the perfect way to end the year. Kudos to the Education Committee for all of their hard work this year.

Would you like to give back to the hospitality industry? We need YOU, our members, to jump in and assist our Chapter where you can. How can you help? What are your interests or skills? It doesn’t need to take a large amount of your time; it can be as little or as much as you would like to dedicate. We will work with you and your schedule. Please reach out to me or any of our Board Members if you would like to get more involved with the Chapter. Or simply complete the "Find Your Fit" survey if you are interested in volunteering. We would love to have you!

The Summer Kick-Off event “Grand Slam Gatherings” will take place on May 8 at Yankee Stadium. We have been granted early access for a Stadium tour as well as a panel discussion with the Events Team from the stadium. Then we'll head up to our private suite for cocktails and networking as we watch the Yankees take on the Oakland A’s. This is an event you will not want to miss!
