September in Review
We kicked off the season with impact. From rolling up our sleeves at the Fall Harvest Volunteer Event to collaborating with MPI New Jersey for a joint educational program, last month was all about community, connection, and growth. Thank you to everyone who joined in—your energy continues to define our strength.
Behind the Scenes
From September 21–23, our Chapter Board gathered for a retreat at Windrose on Hudson. Together, we welcomed the 2026 Board of Directors and laid the foundation for an exciting year ahead. The retreat was filled with vision-setting, strategy building, and plenty of collaboration to ensure that MPIGNY continues to thrive and innovate in the coming year.
What’s Brewing This Month
We’re proud to host our EDI Education Event: “Inclusive Impact: Designing Events” on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the Wythe Hotel. This dynamic panel will bring together thought leaders and industry voices to dive into what it really means to design with EDI at the core. From choosing accessible and welcoming venues to curating inclusive content and experiences, and even evaluating for ongoing improvement, our panelists will share practical insights that move beyond simple accommodation.

Our chapter thrives because of the passion and commitment of members like you. If you’ve been thinking about getting more involved, now’s the time! Jump into a committee, lend your expertise, or share ideas that help shape the future of MPIGNY.

Born from the legacy of the historic Stonewall Inn—the birthplace of the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement—SIGBI is more than a nonprofit—it’s an active force for global LGBTQ+ empowerment built on the legacy of the Stonewall Uprising. Whether through certification, funding, recognition, or advocacy, SIGBI turns the historic spirit of Stonewall into real, ongoing change.
Founded in 2017 by the Inn’s co-owners, SIGBI champions equality through dynamic programs that foster inclusion and combat intolerance worldwide. From certifying Safe Spaces and awarding scholarships to hosting the annual Brick Awards Gala, the initiative empowers communities and honors leaders who embody Stonewall’s enduring spirit. With efforts like the Rally for Recovery and grassroots grants, SIGBI uplifts LGBTQ+ voices in underserved areas and drives progress where it’s needed most.
Every program reflects SIGBI’s mission: preserving Stonewall’s legacy while creating a future where all LGBTQ+ individuals can live, love, and thrive with pride.

On Saturday, September 13th, our team joined forces with City Harvest for a meaningful CSR activity at the bustling Union Square Greenmarket. Together, we helped collect fresh produce generously donated by market vendors. All of this food was delivered to a local food pantry, where it will directly support clients in need of food support. It was a beautiful afternoon of with purpose and connection. Knowing that our efforts would help nourish families in need made the experience even more rewarding. And, after the activity, we headed over to High Note to enjoy some well-earned burgers and fries. The afternoon was the perfect blend of community impact and camaraderie—a reminder of how fulfilling it feels to come together with friends and colleagues to make a difference.
