WEDNESDAY COVERAGE: Dana Carvey headlines MHI Industry Night

Print this Article | Send to Colleague

If you were at Industry Night and saw Dana Carvey, you probably left with little tears in your eyes from laughing so hard -- especially when he did his impressions or maybe because you didn't win that $30,000 trip of a lifetime (which was won by John Hird, Symbotic, C&S Wholesale Groceries). And, you probably have a couple of his jokes going through your head right now, still trying to figure out the punchline - or maybe that is just me. Either way, Dana supplied some great comedic relief last night to a room full of energized supporters. And, if you were there, maybe these lines will help you remember some of the fun skits he shared with us all.

>> I love warehouses. You put stuff in there. There is wood in there. Metal things and ladders.
>>Is there any other competing industry or is this pretty much it?
>>Do the dance!
>>We know what he thinks because he tweets.
>>Jack and Jill went up the hill..... to fetch a pail of water...
>>Socialism is the Department of Motor Vehicles. Capitalism is an Apple store.
>>Is this pretty much all we’re going to do today?
>>Not my best choice...
>>Does your tongue seem smaller than it used to be?
>>Two Irishmen walk out of a bar... It could happen.
>>You made fun of the Precious...

Prior to Dana Carvey making his appearance at Industry Night, the award-winners were revealed for the Innovation Award, the Face of the Industry and the MHI Young Professional Awards. In the latter category, these were the winners:

MHI Mentor Award
Pete Saladas, The Raymond Corp.

MHI Young Professional Award
Tyler Schmakel, Rasco Industries Inc.

Thanks to a generous donation by Magic Johnson of signed jerseys, three attendees walked away with a bright orange jersey under their arms (Melissa Semones, Pivotal Retail Group; Jefff Skibba, FMH Conveyors; and someone from Ecosa).

This was in addition to the signed jersey that he donated to a raffle at Student Days AND an all-expense paid trip to a Dodger game, complete with a trip to the clubhouse.
