Daily Video Recap #1: If Seeing Is Believing...

A "Truly Astounding" First Day

“ProMatDX isn’t a city nor it is an expo hall. It is all of us–the professionals, the thought-leaders, the community leaders—that power up this amazing industry,” explained Randell Mauricio, ProMatDX daily recap host, during the first video recap for ProMaxDX 2021. “It has truly been an astounding first day.”

Brett Wood, MHI chairman and president and CEO of Toyota Material Handling, NA, backed that up, and said, “MHI has taken the power of the connections, solutions sourcing and education that only ProMat can deliver and combined it with the latest digital event technology to create ProMatDX. This makes this event, and April 12-16, 2021, the most important week of 2021 for the material handling, manufacturing and supply chain industry.” He said he was impressed by the quality and the quantity of the content for the event and that the digital format “perfectly demonstrates the agility our industry has shown.”

Mauricio then shared some tips about opportunities on the show “floor” that you don’t want to miss, such as the sponsor showcase that has dedicated windows from 12-1 p.m. and 3-4 p.m. each day and the Grip AI matchmaking tool. He also introduced a few of the sponsors so they could illustrate some of the ways they are innovatively interacting with attendees at the show.

Markus Schmidt, president of Swisslog Americas, talked about micro-fulfilment and showed some clips of the live video feed of their warehouse they are streaming for interested attendees. Kevin Ledversis, director of sales at Newcastle Systems, talked about mobile powered workstations and lithium-ion powered carts and activity-tracker apps. Fergal Glynn, vice president of Marketing at 6 River Systems, shared details on the interactive video experience they created for ProMatDX attendees, where they can choose their own path, such as a picker, packer or supervisor. The camera angle then changes to that position’s point of view and takes you through an experience on the DC floor with collaborative mobile robots.

And to wrap it up, Mauricio shared some clips from the MHI Innovation Award Winners keynote hosted by MHI CEO John Paxton, and shared the winners in each category. (See summary of the keynote in this newsletter.)

Don’t miss tomorrow’s events! And, stay tuned for the recap video, which will be sent out in the afternoon, and the daily recap newsletter, which will go out shortly thereafter.
