"The National Building, Fire, and Plumbing Codes, and the National Energy Code for Buildings was expected to be released at the end of 2020—but the industry will have to wait a little while longer. The committees of the Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes (CCBFC) are finalizing updates to the codes. The next editions are anticipated to be available in December 2021."

A new report from the Canada Green Building Council outlines the potential of a green recovery. The prioritization of green building could contribute 1.5 million jobs and $150 billion in Gross Domestic Product by 2030, all while reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 53 megatonnes compared with 2018 levels.
