Statistics Canada’s Survey of Employment, Payroll and Hours shows that total investment in building construction, including both residential and non-residential, decreased by 3.6 percent to $15.4 billion. COVID-19 restrictions negatively affected construction in March, especially in Quebec where all non-essential building construction was shut down.
