The Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes invites interested parties to take part in a final opportunity for public review of the proposed changes to the 2015 editions of the National Building Code, the National Fire Code, the National Plumbing Code and the National Energy Code for Buildings. The review will run on the Codes Canada webpage from October 22 to December 23, 2019.

Alberta has announced $10 million in funding over the next four years to help increase the amount of women in skilled trades, according to the Edmonton Sun. At the Women Building Futures workshop, Advanced Education Minister Demetrios Nicolaides said nearly 45,000 skilled trade workers are expected to retire in the next 10 years and the funding would help strengthen the province’s economy by boosting the amount of workers in these fields.
