Total investment in building construction increased 2.6 per cent in April to $14.8 billion, according to Statistics Canada. Residential sector investment (+3.6 per cent to $10.1 billion) led the growth, while the non-residential sector increased 0.3 per cent to $4.7 billion. On a constant dollar basis, building construction investment rose 2.9 percent to $12.5 billion.
