World Plumbing Day is an international event held on March 11 every year and it is recognized by the World Health Organization. Initiated by the World Plumbing Council and supported enthusiastically by the Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada, we celebrate the important role plumbing plays in the health and safety of modern society. History shows that great leaps in humankind’s advancement — both physically and socially — have been tied to advances in plumbing technology.

The Ontario caucus of the National Trade Contractors Coalition of Canada (of which MCA Canada is a
founding member), together with other industry organizations in Ontario, has developed a petition, the results of which will be forwarded on to the Ontario legislature. If you are a contractor from Ontario, please take just a minute to complete the following petition and submit it by clicking the green "sign" button. If you are a contractor outside of Ontario, you can complete the petition and submit it as well. This will illustrate that the support is Canada-wide! The more signatures the better!

Industry News
Canada's cities say with the construction season approaching there is an "urgent" need for the federal government to reveal the details of a new infrastructure plan scheduled to come into effect April 1, despite the fact that money from the new fund has already been promised to Toronto for the extension of a subway line. With the 2014 budget just over a week away and still no details about the new fund, cities say they are at risk of losing thousands of jobs that come with the construction season.
