Member Update

MCA Canada is asking members to complete a short survey about their basic corporate information. It would help us immensely if as many members as possible were to complete this survey—it's just six questions long! We will use the data we collect as feedback and input it into the programs and services we offer to our members. Help us help you!

CEC will once again offer its highly acclaimed Estimating Conference in Toronto, ON from October 17 to 19. Sessions covered include deal-breakers, project risk and go/no go strategies, putting together a proposal, what a general contractor looks for in its selection process—and more. The conference is led by Jack Wilhelmi and Tim Wentz from MCA America, with a special session by Dan Leduc from Norton Rose Fulbright.

Registration is limited to just 30 participants. Register today to avoid disappointment.

More than 1,000 students have completed CEC’s 10-day project management course. The program is ideal for new hires and people who want to upgrade their project management skills. As a bonus, it is Gold Seal accredited.

Innovation & Technology

The term “innovation” conjures up images of drones, virtual reality, state-of-the-art sensing technology, and leading-edge building materials. These products, however, are only enablers—the real innovation is in the changes companies have to make to adopt them.

Reliance on artificial intelligence for complex construction tasks is not as farfetched as one might think with all the talk of robots and job automation. But human workers aren't going away anytime soon, so AI adoption spreads, as with most new technologies, with tools that help workers do their job better, faster, and more efficiently.
