Member Update
On February 1, MCA Canada is moving.
But don’t worry: we’re not going far. In fact, we’re moving up one floor – to suite 701. Everything else remains the same.
MCA Canada
701–280 Albert St,
Ottawa, Ontario K1P 5G8
Tel: 613-232-0492
Website: www.mcac.ca

Please note that during the move, the MCA Canada office may experience some short-term disruptions in our communications. Bear with us!
We wish to take this opportunity to welcome a few people to the MCA family.
  • Nadine Fullarton is the new executive director of the Moncton Northeast Construction Association, and will have the administrative responsibilities for MCA New Brunswick.

  • Ramona Coey is the new executive director of MCA Manitoba.

  • Brandon Pageau, whom many of you met at our most recent conference in Orlando, takes over as executive director of MCA Ontario.
Welcome to the MCA family. We look forward to working with you.
Industry News
The federal government is currently funding ten pilot projects as part of its Flexibility and Innovation in Apprenticeship Technical Training initiative. These pilots are experimenting with online learning, upfront training, mobile labs and simulator training.

Working with the new federal government, the federal infrastructure program, prompt payment and quality of design documents appeared near the top of CCA's priority list in 2016.

In Canada's future economy, the skilled trades are going to matter more than ever. We need to make significant and sustained investments in attracting our best and brightest talent to these professions, the same way we do for the best and brightest knowledge workers.

Innovation & Technology
The construction industry has been facing a downturn in productivity for the last 52 years, and construction firms are increasingly turning to improving employee relationships and building strategy to "flip the curve" of the market's downturn. One company is making that change happen.

By the Numbers
The International Monetary Fund's latest outlook for advanced economies as a whole has improved for the 2017–18, but Trump is a wild card that could have an unpredictable impact.
