CEC Golf Tournament Wrap Up

Congratulations goes out to our two-time defending champs, Dave Holek, Dayne Holek, Rene Plourde andConn McAdorey. They shot a combined 63, or 9-under par for the day.

We also handed out awards to our Most Honest foursome of Dale Finlay, Robert Haddow, Tom Murray, and Paul Silverberg. In addition there were a number of course challenge winners for Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin and Most Accurate Drive contests. Congratulations to Bruce Laing, Marissa Havens, Amanda Young, Glenn Sider, Rene Plourde, and Dayne Holek. Congratulations also to Craig Wilkinson who came away as the winner of the toilet bowl golf ball drop.

The winner of the 50/50 draw was Paul McDonald. Paul graciously donated his $500-prize back to CEC. AON raised $435 through the Beat the Broker Hole, and following dinner we held a silent auction that raised an additional $4,800. The finally tally is not in yet, but we are safe to say that over $15,000 was raised to assist in course development and educational offerings.

As always, we are only successful if we have the support of participants and sponsors. We would like to once again thank:

Finally, thank you to the CEC Golf Committee and volunteers who help pull off the golf day every year. They are: Brian McCabe, Kevin Fullan, Dave Holek, Wanda Heimbecker, Scott Munro, Brandon Pageau, Dan Milroy, Tim Meadows, Daryl Sharkey, Ariel Shortt and Tania Johnston as well as our tournament-day volunteers, Darlene Borigana and Debbie Vieira.

Mark July 11th, 2018 on your calendars. We’ll see you back at the Royal Ontario Golf Club for another great day!
