In 2010, MCA Canada joined forces with Operation Eyesight to help eliminate trachoma, a completely preventable disease that leads to blindness.

Since 1963, Operation Eyesight has prevented more than 35 million people from facing this needless tragedy. Their work is focused in places where blindness can be deadly, especially to those who are very young, old or poor.

Trachoma is an eye infection transmitted by flies and exacerbated by cultural and environmental factors. The most heart-wrenching fact about trachoma is that it, and many skin and respiratory diseases, can be eradicated with accessible clean water and basic sanitation.

MCA Canada continues to appeal to our members and the industry for contributions to help eradicate this curable situation. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far in 2016. Your dollars are making meaningful changes in the lives of people in the developing world.
