Learning Forum Opportunities

Check out this sample from the list of 21 Learning Forum Sessions:

INTELLIGENT CONTROLS SYSTEMS FOR INTELLIGENT CONTRACTORS - As the world rapidly changes, discover
where HVAC controls are heading. Long gone are the days of mechanical "round" thermostats. Intelligent devices
and convergence of technologies are here to stay! Join Gerry Fitzsimmons (VSC Group Inc.) for Intelligent Controls Systems for Intelligent Contractors. See what is commercially available right now and imagine the possibilities.

HEAD PRESSURE CONTROL IN REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS - Walter Langille (National Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Canada Corp. – Keeprite Refrigeration) will provide technical information on why head pressure control is required and ways to control head pressure, specifically looking at the efficiency and energy ($ payback). Lab data on floating head pressure options and how system components play a role in energy efficiency, will also be presented. The newly published CSA F280 Heat Loss/Gain Standard will dramatically change the sizing calculation of heating and cooling systems in homes built after 1995. Join Gord Cooke (Building Knowledge Canada) to learn how to recalibrate your thinking on how to right size equipment and more importantly, learn how to apply the new rules to improve comfort and heat/cool effectiveness in new and existing homes.

TEN WAYS TO CONVERT PROSPECTS INTO CLIENTS - Do you want to increase sales? Do any of your staff need help to sharpen their sales skills? In his session, Suresh Parmachand (Stratovate Group) gives you "Ten Ways to Convert Prospects into Clients" with 10 techniques you can use right away to improve your results.

ONTARIO PLUMBING CODE CHANGES - Rainier Blundel (President of the Ontario Plumbing Inspectors Association)
will provide updates on pertinent changes to the plumbing code that will affect your business, compliance, and how you design water systems in Ontario at the session called "Ontario Plumbing Code Changes".

INTERESTED IN HYDRONICS? - Mike Miller (Uponor) will lead a panel discussion about changes to CSA B214 featuring hydronics experts Dave Hughes (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) and Barry Cunningham (Triangle Supply) – and that’s just one of several hydronics sessions at the show!

New Products Showcase

Discover the latest innovations to boost sales and benefit your business in the New Products Showcase. It’s located in the main foyer as everyone enters the show and it is a gallery of great ideas...plus, even more new products are spread throughout the show – look for "New Product" special signage for fast identification.

EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES
Emerging Technologies are a major part of CMPX. Throughout the show you will find both educational sessions and hands-on opportunities to see and talk about the emerging technologies that are driving the mechanicals industry today!

OPTIONAL HYDRONICS WORKSHOPS
Two optional full-morning Hydronics Workshops with John Siegenthaler, one Wednesday, March 19 and the second session on Thursday, March 20 are available at just $60 per person. This includes your Show Registration Badge, unlimited acess to the show, the John Siegenthaler Workshop and Continental Breakfast. Details are on the CMPX 2014 website a cmpxshow.com. "Siggy’s" workshops always deliver the in-depth technical information that hydronics professionals demand.
